Manslaughter Charges Filed Against Driver Suspected Of Striking, Killing Teens
AUBURN (CBS13) – The man authorities say struck and killed two Placer High School teenagers is in court for his first appearance on Tuesday.
The district attorney's office says they have filed felony manslaughter charges against Philip Ingram for the Sunday incident.
California Highway Patrol says Trevor Keller and Jared Gaches, both 15-years-old, were walking on the shoulder of Highway 49 near Auburn when Ingram hit them.

Upon hearing that the judge ruled Ingram would not get bail, the courtroom erupted in applause. Many family members of the boys were in attendance.
Students said the best friends were walking to a coffee shop when it happened. Police say the boys were doing everything right.
A third boy was there, too, and survived. At a vigil at Placer High on Monday night night, a friend described what that boy told her after the crash.
"He said he didn't remember moving and said something like an angel pushed him out of the way," Ciara Wild said.
CHP says the 62-year-old Ingram was under the influence of some kind of drug behind the wheel.
Witnesses say he also side-swiped an empty parked car just before hitting the teens.
