Fire Near Vacaville That Prompted Evacuations Contained

VACAVILLE (CBS13) - The latest on the Oak Fire in Vacaville:

5:20 p.m. 

The fire is contained and residents are able to return home.

2:50 p.m. 

Authorities report the fire has largely been contained.

Police say the areas that have been evacuated will be reopening within the hour.

2:20 p.m.

Cal Fire reports that the fire has grown to 30 acres, but the forward progress has been stopped.

1:25 p.m.

Authorities have issued mandatory evacuations for a neighborhood in Vacaville due to a fire burning near homes.

The fire is near westbound Interstate 80 and Pena Adobe.

Mandatory evacuations have been issued for Grandview Drive off Alamo Drive, El Camino, Acorn and Fair Oaks, and the far south end of Hillside Court, according to Vacaville Fire.

Evacuated residents can go to the Three Oaks Community Center, authorities say.

Firefighters say the fire has burned 20 acres with a potential for a "few hundred."
