Man Wounded In Car-To-Car Freeway Shooting Near Concord

CONCORD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a car-to-car shooting on a San Francisco Bay area freeway has wounded a man.

Concord police spokesman Cpl. Chris Blakeley says the man was driving on State Route 242 Saturday afternoon when he was hit by gunfire shot from a silver SUV.

Blakeley said the victim suffered two gunshots to his upper body. He drove himself to a hospital in Walnut Creek for treatment and was in stable condition after surgery.

The shooting snarled traffic in the area as investigators searched the highway for evidence and talked to witnesses.

The Contra Costa Times reports no suspects have been found.
