Man Sought In Attempted Child Kidnapping In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Stockton Police are looking for a man whose alleged abduction attempt may have lead to Stockton's 32nd homicide of the year.

Dale Hardin, 45, is suspected of trying to abduct a 4-year-old boy on Sunday. The boy told a relative Hardin had tried to kidnap him earlier.

A group of people tried to apprehend Hardin, but he fled to an apartment. Amid the tension, Tommy Alejandro, 44, tried to calm the situation when he was approached by two Hispanic males in their early 20s. One of them shot and killed Alejandro.

Hardin is 5'10", 190 pounds and has freckles.

If you have information about Hardin, contact Det. Dave Reeder at (209) 937-8323.
