Man Killed In Confrontation Outside Escalon Bar, Search On For Suspect

ESCALON (CBS13) - A manhunt is underway in Escalon after a bar fight turned into a homicide.

Police say 26-year-old Rocky Overturf is suspected of hitting the victim outside the Valley Inn bar on Main Street early Sunday morning. Overturf fled the scene in a dark-colored car.

The 36-year-old victim fell to the ground and hit his head. He later died from his injuries. He has been identified as Escalon resident Aaron Messick.

Officers are still looking for Overturf and are following all leads. Anyone who sees Overturf or knows where he might be is asked to call the Escalon Police Department.
