Man Hospitalized After Officer-Involved Shooting Following Domestic Violence Call

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man is in the hospital after officers say they were forced to fire after a domestic violence call.

The shooting happened at 61st Street and First Avenue in the Tahoe Park neighborhood of Sacramento.

Sacramento Police say they responded to a call about a fight between a man and a woman just before 6 p.m. on Friday.

"The male half produced a firearm and actually pointed it at the officers," said officer Traci Trapeni. "So the officers in fear for their lives fired shots at the suspect."

The woman and two officers were not hurt.
