Man Dies After Being Shot By Clovis Police

CLOVIS, Calif. (AP) -- A man who was shot by Clovis police officers after they attempted to serve warrants has died of his injuries.

The Fresno Bee reports that officers shot the suspect Thursday after attempting to serve at least one felony warrant. The suspect was pronounced dead later at Community Regional Medical Center. His identity has not been released.

Police Chief Matt Basgall says the suspect attempted to flee when officers approached him Thursday afternoon. He then accelerated his vehicle at the officers, after which the officers fire three rounds.
