Man Charged With Tying Up, Threatening Teens He Says Disrespected His Daughter

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Police say a Utah man tied up and threatened two teenage boys because he thought they were disrespectful to his daughter.

Mohamed Shobi B. Mohamed-Sidik of West Valley City is charged with kidnapping, robbery and assault for the Aug. 16 incident.

One of the boys told police Mohamed-Sidik became angry when the boy went in his daughter's room. Court documents say the teenager was tied naked to a chair, threatened with a knife and forced to call his friend, who was also tied up.

The boys say they were made to sign a paper apologizing for their treatment of Mohamed-Sidik's daughter.

Mohamed-Sidik's son told KUTV (http://bit.ly/2bCeFQI ) that his father had treated the teens like family and was just trying to teach them a lesson.

No attorney was listed for Mohamed-Sidik.
