Lengthy Big-Rig Chase In Stockton Ends With Arrest
STOCKTON (CBS13) - A bizarre drama played out on the streets of downtown Stockton Thursday morning when the driver of a stolen big rig led police on a slow-speed chase that lasted for hours.
The chase started just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday after CHP officers received a call that a big rig was dumping debris from its trailer in the roadway. Officers spotted the truck and tried to get the driver to pull over, but he drove away, touching off a low-speed chase through downtown streets lasting almost four hours.
The truck's speed averaged around 25-30 mph, and turned suddenly at times, apparently trying to ditch pursuing officers.
At around 7 a.m., officers blew out the truck's tires using spike strips. The man finally stopped between East Flora Road and Airport way ran to a nearby home.

Officers arrested the 42-year-old man a short time later.
The driver's identity has not been released.
The truck belongs to Lopez Logistics in Stockton.
