Man Accused Of Killing Yuba County Woman Arrested In Carmichael

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) - Authorities have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a murder of a Yuba County woman.

Around 2:50 p.m. Friday, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department detectives and negotiators went to a home in the 5300 block of Gibbons Drive in Carmichael where they arrested a fugitive, 25-year-old Jonnyrae Witt, without a struggle, according to sheriff's department spokesperson Deputy Tony Turnbull.

Some other people inside the home were also temporarily detained.

Deputies say Witt was involved in a home invasion earlier this month. He allegedly wandered into a home through an unlocked door, and after being confronted by the owner, left the home and fired his gun at the homeowner as he ran away.

Witt later reportedly killed his estranged girlfriend, 31-year-old Leslie Cramblit, near the town of Rackerby in Yuba County.
