Man Accused Of Exposing Himself Minutes After Registering As Sex Offender

PLACERVILLE, Calif. (AP) - Placerville police say they have arrested a man accused of exposing himself a few minutes after he registered with the police department as a sex offender.

Police say convicted sex offender Esteban Rocha went to the Police Department on Tuesday morning to register as a sex offender as required by state law and as a condition of his parole.

The Sacramento Bee reports the 51-year-old Rocha was arrested about 25 minutes later after police received a 911 call reporting a man matching Rocha's description exposing himself to a woman near the police station.

Officers say he was identified by the woman and arrested.

Rocha was booked into El Dorado County Jail for a parole violation and on suspicion of committing indecent exposure with prior convictions.
