Man, 49, Suspected Of Starting 6 Fires In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Detectives say they have arrested a man suspected of starting a handful of fires and are looking into whether he is responsible for more.

The Sacramento Fire Department says they responded to six separate grass and debris fires just before midnight on Friday. All fires were along Freeport Boulevard between Belleau Wood Lane and Florin Road.

No structures were damaged and no one was hurt in the fires.

Witnesses reported seeing a man running from the scene. Arson investigators soon arrested a man fitting the description.

The man has been identified as 49-year-old James C. Miller. He is facing numerous arson charges.

Investigators are also looking into whether Miller is possibly responsible for other suspicious fires in the south Sacramento area recently.
