Man, 37, Arrested For Fatal Shooting Along Hurley Way

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Detectives say they have arrested the man wanted in for a shooting that left a 45-year-old man dead Friday night.

The incident happened a little after 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex along the 2200 block of Hurley Way, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. Deputies say that multiple people reported hearing gunshots in the area.

Once at the scene, deputies found that a man had been shot. That man, who has not been identified, was soon pronounced dead at the scene.

Saturday, detectives announced they had arrested 37-year-old Jerome Bernard Butler in connection to the shooting. Butler and the man killed are said to have known each other, detectives say.

Butler has been booked at Sacramento County Jail on charge of murder.

Detectives note that, while a motive for the alleged murder has not been established, they do not believe there are any more outstanding suspects.
