Man, 28, Killed In Fairfield Shooting

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (CBS13/AP) - A Fairfield elementary school was briefly locked down after numerous shots were fired nearby, killing one man.

Police say the shooting in Fairfield occurred about 9 a.m. Wednesday outside Grange Elementary School. Fairfield police say the shooting appears unrelated to the school.

Authorities say a gunshot victim was found nearby and taken to a hospital. Police didn't release the victim's name and no arrests were made.

Fairfield police later announced that the man had died. He is only being identified as a 28-year-old Fairfield resident.

The school's principal said the school was locked down for about 15 minutes.
