Man, 22, Killed In Crash East Of Lodi

LODI (CBS13) – A driver was killed after a crash east of Lodi early Thursday morning, California Highway Patrol says.

The crash happened just after midnight. According to CHP, a Honda was heading east on Kettleman Lane and was entering the intersection of Highway 88 when it was hit by a Chevrolet heading south.

Both cars spun out of control due to the force of the crash.

Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Honda dead at the scene, while his passenger was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Chevy was also taken to the hospital with major injuries; her passengers were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda has only been identified as a 22-year-old man at this time.

CHP notes that there are traffic lights at the intersection where the crash happened. What caused the crash is still under investigation.
