Man, 20, Dead Following Shooting In Lodi

LODI (CBS13) – Police say that a 20-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Lodi Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Railroad Avenue around 10:30 p.m. after a report of shots fired, according to the Lodi Police Department. Once at the scene, officers found that 20-year-old Tomas Flores had been shot dead.

Another man, an unidentified 18-year-old, was also hurt in the shooting, but he is expected to be OK.

Detectives believe that Flores and the 18-year-old were the victims of a drive-by shooting. The two had just walked out of a restaurant when they were shot at by someone in a car that drove by, detectives say.

Police note that Flores has gang ties and they are looking into whether it played a role in the shooting.
