Man, 19, Arrested For Fatal Stabbing In North Highlands

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Detectives say a 19-year-old man has been arrested for last week's stabbing death in North Highlands.

Citrus Heights resident Harley Edward Stratton is facing a charge of murder. Detectives with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department believe he is responsible for stabbing 39-year-old Jason Westmoreland at a home near Karen Lane and Canary Drive in North Highland back on Dec. 23.

Westmoreland was stabbed at least once in the altercation.

Detectives believe that Stratton and Westmoreland did not know each other before the encounter. Few other details about the incident have been released.

Stratton is currently being held at Sacramento County Jail. He is ineligible for bail.
