Machinery From Former Campbell's Soup Plant Going Up For Auction

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An auction for the remaining assets at the old Campbell's Soup plant in South Sacramento begins Tuesday and runs through Thursday.

Up for auction will be the facility's old equipment that was once used for canning, bottling and packing Campbell's Chicken Noodle soups.

The 129 acre property was bought by Rabin Worldwide and its partners Hackman Capital Group and Capital Recovery Group back in December. According to a media release from San Francisco-based Rabin Worldwide, the groups intend to redevelop the property into a multi-use retail, industrial and office center.

Rabin Worldwide has not disclosed how much they paid for the plant, which was originally built in 1947. The plant closed in July 2013, sending its 700 employees out of work.

If you're interested in bidding on the equipment, a list can be found at http://www.rabin.com.
