Convicted Cop Killer Luis Bracamontes Given Death Sentence By Judge

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Convicted and confessed cop killer Luis Bracamontes has been sentenced to death.

Bracamontes, convicted of killing Sacramento County sheriff's deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County sheriff's detective Michael Davis Jr. during a crime spree in October of 2014, was in court Wednesday for the sentencing.

The judge had him removed from the courtroom when he started acting out during the victim impact statements.

During the statement from former Placer County deputy Chuck Bardo, Bracamontes went off and started shouting expletives.

Judge Steve White, after the impact statements finished, ruled that Bracamontes would get the death penalty.

A jury handed down a death penalty recommendation late last month after only four hours of deliberations.

Bracamontes was found guilty in February.
