Loose Horse Holds Up Traffic Along I-80 Near Colfax

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – A horse running in the roadway caused quite the traffic jam in the Weimar area Wednesday morning.

The horse was first spotted just after 4:30 a.m., running westbound in the eastbound lanes along the center divide, just past Applegate Road.

Traffic was held in both directions of Interstate 80 near West Paoli Road, just west of Weimar Cross Road, in order to try and corral the lost horse.

Crews were eventually able to corral the horse and reopen the roadway.
