Logger Crushed Between Tree, Rock In Central California

TEHACHAPI, Calif. (AP) - A 26-year-old man has been killed in a logging accident in Central California.

The Kern County Fire Department says the tree in Bear Valley Springs was already down and workers were cutting off its limbs when the tree shifted and crushed the man against a rock on Wednesday.

The Fire Department says the coroner and state workplace regulators are investigating.

Bear Valley Springs is near Tehachapi about 40 miles southeast of Bakersfield.
