Car crashes into Lodi Starbucks, sending customer to hospital, officials say
One person was taken to a hospital after a car crashed into a Starbucks in Lodi on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The City of Lodi said the crash happened at the Starbucks on Reynolds Rancho Parkway.
The city said the driver, a 32-year-old delivery driver, was parked in front of the store while picking up an order. Officials said he accidentally hit the gas pedal, causing the vehicle to jump the curb and drive into the glass wall of the business.
Officials said the driver ran over a 56-year-old customer. Employees and customers worked together to get that person out from under the car before they were taken to a hospital with abrasions.
A 15-year-old girl was struck by furniture and treated for injuries at the scene.
The driver, who was not injured, was cited for violations. DUI is not suspected.
