LINCOLN (CBS13) – A 25-year-old woman was arrested in Lincoln after police say she tried to use counterfeit money at Walmart.

The incident happened Sunday night at the Walmart in Lincoln.

Police say officers responded to the store a little before 9:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a woman trying to pass some counterfeit money. Officers confronted the woman – 25-year-old Lincoln resident Ashley Lae – and found she had counterfeit currency.

Officers also found Lae had a stolen check, stolen merchandise, credit card info from other people, and a device used to take off security tags. Meth and syringes were also found with Lae, officers say.

Lae is a suspect in other fraud cases the Lincoln Police Department has been investigating, officers say.

She was arrested and has been booked at South Placer Jail.
