Students Get Lightning-Fast Grad Ceremony As Thunderstorm Rolls In

ROCKLIN (CBS13) – Rocklin High School's graduation ceremony Friday will go down as one to remember – sending a new generation off in spectacular, and fast, fashion.

"It was a little chaotic. Ominous, I would say," said parent Deborah Earl.

Parents had to get their snapshots fast.

The school's scoreboard says it all: Rocklin High, Home of the Thunder. It just happens that this thunderstorm broke out just as the Thunder's 2015 graduation started.

"So our whole class got through and walked and graduated in thirty minutes," said Trevor Bohatch, a Rocklin High School graduate

Leaving high school with a bang.

"By the time everybody had walked it was, pouring rain and lightning," Bohatch said. "[It was] just not safe anymore."

It was one last powerful reminder for graduates of the exciting world that awaits.

Graduates we talked to said they were preparing for clear skies and hot temperatures up until they lined up to take the stage and saw the storm heading their way.
