Light Rail Train Hits Pickup That Drove Through Warning Signals

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Light rail service was disrupted Friday morning after a train hit a pickup truck.

The incident happened just before 8 a.m. at the Bradshaw Crossing near Folsom Boulevard.

RT says the Gold Line train hit a truck that was crossing the track. The truck reportedly crossed the tracks after the warning signals were turned on.

The impact was enough to detach the back end of the truck from the front. No one was hurt in the crash.

A temporarily bus bridge was put in place as crews investigated and cleared up the scene.

Train service was restored a little before 9 a.m.
