2 dogs rescued after garage fire spreads to Sacramento County home
Firefighters say working smoke alarms woke a family as a fire tore through their home's garage Friday morning.
Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to Lemas Road, just off Elk Grove Florin Road, around 7:30 a.m.
When crews arrived, they found the garage fully involved, with flames beginning to spread to the rest of the home.
Five people live in the home, and all were able to get out safely. Firefighters also rescued two dogs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
