Legal Experts Agree Trump's Ban On Muslims' Travel Unconstitutional

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Legal experts say Donald Trump's call to block all Muslims from entering the United States would not only violate the Constitution but also be impossible to carry out.

The ban Trump proposed on Monday would apply to immigrants and visitors alike.

Legal experts are condemning the idea, as are Trump's Republican presidential rivals, GOP leaders and others.

Yeshiva University law professor Marci Hamilton calls it "blatantly unconstitutional" and "an attack on the very foundation of the United States."

New York University School of Law professor Nancy Morawetz says Trump is proposing a religious test that would be unprecedented in U.S. history.

Trump says banning all Muslims is warranted after attacks by Muslim extremists in Paris and last week's shooting in California.
