LeBron James To Pay $42 Million For College Tuition

Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star LeBron James is about to shell out a lot of money for college tuition within the next several years - and it's not for himself.

Starting in 2021, James is going to start providing full-ride scholarships to students who have completed his "I Promise" education program in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, according to Buzzfeed Sports.

There are currently 1,100 students enrolled in James' "I Promise" program — ranging from third to seventh grade - who will receive scholarships upon graduating high school as long as they complete the program, as well as meet specific attendance and grade requirements.

These tuitions will cost James around $42 million - almost twice his annual salary from the Cavaliers.
