Large Pot Grow Raided In Manteca, $8M Worth Of Plants Discovered

MANTECA (CBS13) – Police raided a large scale marijuana growing operation in Manteca that was set to be harvested.

According to the Manteca Police Department, detectives were tipped off by an anonymous informant that there could be large marijuana grow at a warehouse near Highway 99.

Wednesday, officers showed up at the Dupont Circle warehouse and served a search warrant.

Police say nearly 600 mature pot plants – with a street value of about $8.4 million – was discovered. A Stockton man, 39-year-old Lan Dinh Vuu, was at the home and has been arrested.

Detectives say the pot plants were scheduled to be harvested next week and were supposed to go to a marijuana store in the Bay Area.

A Bay Area home linked to Vuu was also raided on Wednesday. Officers say about $130,000 in cash was discovered at the home.
