Know Before You Go: Taking Caltrain To Super Bowl Events

If you plan on taking a trip to the Bay Area this weekend to check out all the great Super Bowl 50 celebrations happening in the Bay Area, you may want to save yourself some energy by leaving the car at home.

If you're staying in the Bay Area and want to get to your Super Bowl festivities without the traffic, Caltrain might be your best bet. The San Francisco and San Jose Railroad Company provides rail service along the San Francisco Peninsula, through the South Bay to San Jose and Gilroy.

FARES: 

One-way tickets and Day passes can only be purchased at the station Ticket Machine on the day of travel. For info about 8-ride tickets and monthly passes, click HERE.

Full fares apply to all customers who are 19 and older, except those who qualify for an Eligible Discount ticket. The cost of your train ride depends on how many of the 6 zones are traveled through between Gilroy and San Francisco. See a map of the zones HERE.

PARKING PERMITS
If you would like to leave your vehicle parked at the Caltrain station on the days leading up to Super Bowl, it will cost $5 per day for a parking permit. On Super Bowl Sunday parking permits will cost $20 per day.

- Radios and music players are allowed with earphones only.
- Open alcoholic containers aren't permitted on trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event nights.
- Don't put feet on the seats.
- Be courteous to your fellow riders.
