Kings To Start Downtown Plaza Demolition

After years of talk and years of waiting, the new Downtown arena seems more real than ever. The Sacramento Kings on Thursday announced that demolition of the Downtown Plaza will get underway on August 1 at 6 a.m.

The first week of work will include barricades replacing temporary fencing, bus stops relocated and new concrete ramps poured, according to the Kings press release. The new arena is expected to open in October 2016.
