King Fire Smoke Drifting To Valley Prompts Alert

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – With smoke from the King Fire drifting down into the Valley, health officials have issued a warning to residents.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District is advising people to stay indoors if they can. Smoke is reaching around Sacramento County, but is predominantly affecting Folsom and Rancho Cordova.

Officials say that pollution levels have reached the "Unhealthy" level on the Air Quality Index.

The smoke is expected to move out of the area by afternoon. But, more smoke may come Saturday morning, officials say.
