Police Investigate Reports Of Armed Robbery At Kaiser Vacaville

VACAVILLE (CBS13) — A heavy law enforcement presence gathered at Kaiser Vacaville following reports of a person with a gun inside the hospital, police said Thursday evening.

The Vacaville Police Department said they received reports of the armed person just after 6 p.m. The suspect had already fled the scene when officers arrived.

One witness we spoke to said the suspect hopped over the pharmacy counter with a gun and ran toward the medication as people ran away.

"It's a pretty scary situation. We had no idea that it was an active shooter type of situation until we showed up and tried to go to the pharmacy," one person said.

There were no reports of a gun being fired and no injuries were reported. The suspect was seen wearing a grey jacket, and dark pants. A further description was not available.

Vacaville police said the hospital's emergency room remained open while the investigation has closed the pharmacy. Police said there is believed to be no active threat at the hospital.
