UPDATE: Judge Grants Continuance In Hearing About Sex Offender's Possible Fairfield Home

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - A man considered to be a high-risk sexually violent predator will have to wait to find out if he can move into a Fairfield neighborhood.

Fraisure Smith petitioned the state for conditional release, and is set to move into a four-bedroom home that rents for $3,000 a month -- on the taxpayers' dime.

We reported earlier this week that neighbors are protesting and don't want him there. A Solano County judge was expected to rule on case at a Friday morning hearing, but that hearing was delayed until 1:30 p.m. after the man's attorney was a no-show. About 60 people attending the hearing. Some told CBS13 that they're unhappy about the continuance.
