Leila Fowler was found stabbed to death in the family's Valley Springs home in April of 2013. Her brother, at the time described finding an intruder inside the home. Police issued a vague description of that suspect, though no one was ever found. At the time, investigators were also not ruling out her brother as a suspect.

A witness who corroborated her brother's description of the suspect was later found to not be credible a week later. A profiler CBS13 spoke to said the suspect likely knew Leila Fowler.

Two weeks after her stabbing death, her brother was arrested.
