James Corden Talks About Almost Introducing Rihanna At GRAMMYs

James Corden told the story Monday night of what he thought would be his near-brush with GRAMMY fame.

During the Late Late Show, he told his audience he was scheduled to take part in an 80s-style talk show skit with Rihanna prior to her GRAMMY performance of her song "Kiss It Better."

He was going to be the talk show host of a fictional show "As It Lays", and would be decked out with period-style glasses and a funky 80s suit -- possibly smoking a cigarette.

Then on Monday night, he went to the awards and made it all the way to the end of the red carpet before finding out the musician was too sick to perform.

Thinking it was his time to shine, Corden said he had visions of performing in her place. But it wasn't going to happen; the performance was canceled.

Don't worry James, your time will come.
