Inmates Injured In Fresno Gas Pipeline Blast Seek $48 Million From PG&E

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - A lawyer in Central California representing three men who were injured in a gas pipeline blast has filed a claim against a utility and Fresno County seeking $48 million in punitive damages.

The Fresno Bee reports Friday (http://bit.ly/1zlkx6N) attorney Butch Wagner filed a legal complaint last week against Pacific Gas & Electric Co. seeking $48 million on behalf of three inmates who were injured in the April 17 explosion.

He also filed a claim for damages against Fresno County in connection with the shooting range explosion and fire.

The attorney on Thursday filed an amended complaint in Fresno County Superior Court seeking an additional $16 million on behalf of any additional clients who were burned in the blast.

Fresno County has six months to reject the claim before a lawsuit can be filed.
