Inmate who left minimum-security facility at Folsom State Prison back in custody

Folsom neighbors help in apprehending escaped inmate

FOLSOM - An inmate who walked away from the minimum-security facility at Folsom State Prison early Friday morning is back in custody.

Zionarrow A. Taylor, 22, was reported missing after a routine 2:30 a.m. count at the facility, according to a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). After they discovered Taylor was missing, staff launched a search, which included law enforcement agencies.

Taylor was back in police custody at around 9:45 a.m. after a resident spotted him, and called 911, according to a Folsom Police Department statement.

Police said the report came from a resident saying someone had knocked on his door asking to use his phone. The homeowner called police and they were able to locate and apprehend Taylor.

Taylor was received at the facility from Fresno County on Oct. 3, 2023, after being sentenced to two years behind bars for second-degree robbery, CDCR says.
