Whiteout Conditions Close I-80 In Sierra

COLFAX (CBS13) – Interstate 80 reopened Monday morning after Sunday's storm brought whiteout conditions to the Sierra.

I-80 was closed on Sunday due to zero visibility conditions.

The closure is in effect from Colfax to the Nevada state line. No estimated time of reopening has been determined yet, Caltrans officials say.

Highway 50 remains open, but chain controls are in effect.
