Hundreds Of Law Enforcement Officers Gather To Honor Fallen Colleagues

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Hundreds of law enforcement officers from the across California are arriving at the state capitol today to remember fallen colleagues. It's an annual event that brings the law enforcement community together.

After the recent deaths of three Los Angeles police officers, today's memorial is especially touching

"So we know what it is to put our life on the line for others and our communities, so we need to be there to support of law enforcement brothers and sisters," said Irvine Police Dept. Ofc. Gavin Hudson.

One of the first law enforcement-related fatalities in California happened in 1800's. Since then, more than 1,000 have died.
