Human Skull Found Near Lake Almanor In Plumas County

PLUMAS COUNTY (CBS13) – A human skull was located by a hunter in a wooded area near Lake Almanor, the Plumas County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday.

The discovery was made Monday near the south end of First Avenue in Chester, authorities said.

A search and rescue team was sent to the area in search of additional remains.

Authorities said the skull was sent to the medical examiner's office for identification.

The sheriff's office said further updates will come upon identification.
