'Hot Convict' Jeremy Meeks Released From Prison

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A local man whose mugshot captured worldwide attention has been released from prison.

Jeremy Meeks, then 30-years-old, was arrested on felony weapons charges in Stockton back in 2014. The Stockton Police Department posted his booking photo to their Facebook page, only to have the photo go viral.

People apparently took notice of Meeks' supermodel-esque looks. The mugshot earned Meeks the nicknames "hot convict" and "Mugshot McDreamy."

Meeks was sentenced to two years in prison. Tuesday, reports surfaced that Meeks had been released.

A photo posted to Meeks' official Instagram page - which stayed active while he was inside - appeared to show him out of prison and with a manager.

"I want to thank my family and everybody for all your love, support and prayers," Meeks wrote.

Meeks reportedly landed a modeling contract before his prison sentence.
