Legendary Singer David Bowie Dead At 69 After Battle With Cancer

Legendary musician David Bowie has died at the age of 69, multiple sources and the star's social media accounts say.

The Hollywood Reporter says they've confirmed the singer's death through his rep.

A short message has been posted to the singer's official Facebook page:

January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief.

Bowie's son Duncan Jones also confirmed the news, posting a heartbreaking picture to Twitter.

Bowie had just released his 25th studio album Blackstar on his 69th birthday on Friday.
