Highway 50 in Sacramento partially closed after crash damages barrier

CBS News Sacramento

A crash blocked part of Highway 50 in Sacramento Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. just east of Howe Avenue on eastbound Highway 50 and was initially blocking three lanes. A photo shows an Amazon truck was involved in the crash and had come to a rest across several lanes.

At 11:40 a.m., CHP said one of the lanes was reopened. According to Caltrans, the crash damaged part of the concrete barrier.

The #1 and #2 lanes will remain closed and one lane on westbound 50 will be closed as crews repair the barrier. CHP said the closures will be in effect for around six hours.

The California Highway Patrol did not say what led to the crash or if anyone was injured.
