High-Speed Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends In Sacramento; Suspect Attempts To Assault K-9

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man who allegedly hit three pedestrians, including a bicyclist, just north of Clarksburg was arrested in a stolen vehicle after a brief high-speed pursuit.

A West Sacramento police officer spotted the suspect's vehicle and plate after the initial accident and tried to pull the suspect over.

Police say the suspect did not stop and instead led them on a two-minute pursuit into Downtown Sacramento with speeds reaching 65 mph. The suspect tried to run, but police released a K-9 that caught up to him. Police say the suspect then tried to punch the dog when the dog bit him.

The suspect has been taken into custody on charges of felony evasion, resisting arrest, assault on a police dog, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

One of the victims was life-flighted from the scene. The conditions of all three are unknown.
