Hateful Graffiti Found At UC Davis Jewish Organization's House

DAVIS (CBS13) – Police in Davis say they're investigating another case of hateful graffiti found at a Jewish organization's house.

According to the Davis Police Department, a janitor discovered the graffiti in a bathroom at The Hillel House – a Jewish organization affiliated with UC Davis – back in late January. The janitor said the phrase "grout out the jews" was etched into the grout of inside a toilet stall. It was immediately removed, police say.

The janitor reportedly came forward Wednesday due to the other recent incident of hateful graffiti found at the Alpha Epsilon Pi house. AEPi is a Jewish fraternity affiliated with UC Davis.

Davis Police say they're investigating the graffiti found at The Hillel House as a hate crime. It was believed to have been done at some point between Jan. 22 and 23.

Anyone with information relevant to both AEPi and Hillel House investigations is asked to call the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400.
