Grass Valley City Councilman Facing Child Porn Charges Resigns Days After Being Sworn In

GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) – A former Nevada County supervisor elected to serve on the Grass Valley city council says he will resign.

Back in November, while he was under investigation on possessing child pornography charges, Terry Lamphier won election to the city council. Monday, just days after being formally charged, Lamphier was sworn into office – but not without loud calls for him to resign.

Lamphier was greeted by a crowd of protesters gathered outside the city council chamber that day.

Wednesday, Lamphier's lawyer Stephen Munkelt told CBS13 that his client will resign. No further comment would be given, Munkelt said.
