Grass Valley CHP Officer Injured In Crash On Highway 49

GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) — A California Highway Patrol officer has been injured in a crash on Highway 49 on Monday.

The officer was flown from the scene after a car struck his car from behind at around 2:30 p.m. His injuries are described as minor to moderate.

The officer has been identified as 20-year law enforcement veteran Reaves Douglas. He's assigned to the patrol division in Grass Valley.

The driver of the other vehicle also sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Officer Douglas was released from the hospital late Monday night and is now recovering at home, CHP says.
