Vegetation Fire Near Aerojet In Rancho Cordova Burned 150 Acres

9:30 p.m. UPDATE: The Oregon Street fire is now over 150 acres, according to Chris Vessel of Sacramento Metro Fire.

Firefighters said they are not aware of the cause of the fire. They also said that the fire was initially under control but due to strong winds and other fires, it continued to grow.

No injuries have been reported and no structures are damaged.

Metro Fire said there are structures in the area, but they have not been harmed.

RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) — A vegetation fire at Old White Rock and Oregon Street in Rancho Cordova broke out today.

Sacramento Metro Fire reported that it was slow moving and only 3-4 acres around 5 p.m.

Firefighters said the fire was not threatening any structures and has limited growth potential.

Although units said they began mopping up the fire around 6 p.m., an hour later Sacramento Metro Fire tweeted that the fire continued to burn near Aerojet.
