Girl Raises $3,000 To Bring Toys To Sacramento Children's Hospital In Memory Of Brother

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A year ago Tuesday, Vanessa Galang lost her 11-year-old brother.

It was a couple of days before Christmas when Moses was on his way to the store with his friend. He was grabbing icing for his sister's carrot cake, when two drivers struck him. One car stopped. The other kept driving, and is still on the run.

But as police search for fresh leads, all Vanessa wants to do is keep her brother's memory alive.

In one month alone, she raised over $3000 to buy toys which she plans on donating to every child at the pediatric intensive unit at the Sacramento Children's Hospital. That's where Moses was treated and died, on Christmas.

"I wanted to do still feel like he was here and do something he would have done," she said.
